Charlie Schaefer, Ph.D.
Life can be counted on to present us with times of pressure, concern, and complexity. For more than 25 years now, I have had the honor and the pleasure of helping individuals and couples grow through these difficult times. I am located in North Carolina, though I am focused on supporting those in international ministry. I meet with clients through secure video-conferencing. As a licensed psychologist, I provide Individual, Marital, and Family therapy and counseling, as well as Psychological Evaluations and Consulting. I also extend support and consultation to churches and other domestic and international Christian ministries. Seminars and workshops dedicated to improving family life, personal relationships, trauma and resilience, compassion fatigue, the needs of global healthcare workers, and emotional and spiritual health can be provided.
How am I distinct? Many people who seek counseling desire a therapist who can help them work through problems in the context of their faith. I am a committed Christian professional with specialized training in clinical psychology and counseling, who also integrates personal faith into my professional practice. In addition to my doctorate in clinical psychology, I also have a master's degree in theology. The treatment I provide is therefore designed to care for the whole person... body, soul, and spirit. I understand that, for some, the path of personal growth will include the integration of their personal faith, while for others it may not; that individual choice will always be respected.
